A level 3 rope access technician shall be capable of site supervision for rope access work projects. Be conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation. Be able to demonstrate all the skill and knowledge of levels 1 and 2. Have a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques. Hold an appropriate current first aid certificate, to show that suitable emergency first aid training has been undertaken. Have knowledge of the IRATA certification Scheme. Have knowledge of the IRATA general requirements and be familiar with the contents of the IRATA guild lines.
The training will be over 4 days with one day assessment by an independent assessor. The course cost will include the candidate's reregistration with IRATA, the following documents:-

All of the equipment for training will be provided in the course cost. On passing the assessment the candidates will receive the following form IRATA all included in the course cost:-
- IRATA Certificate
- IRATA ID card
Pre-training requirements
Prior to training, the application for level 3 assessment form, shall be completed by the candidate and training company. This is a written recommendation from the IRATA member training company as to the candidate's suitability for assessment at level 3.
Note it is not necessary to complete this form for level 3 revalidation.
The candidates shall have a minimum of one year and 1000 hours of work experience as a level 2 rope access technician (hours to be verified by an IRATA logbook, signed by a level 3 and the level 3 IRATA number).
The Candidate shall hold an appropriate current first aid certificate.
Candidates shall be physically fit and free from any disability or medical condition that may prevent them from working safely.
Assessment: Independent assessor will assess on written and practical examination.
Course Duration: 5 Days.
Revalidation period: Certification valid for 3 years.
